An early May visit was made to meet Gary Dando, South West
Representative, who is based in Radstock, Somerset. Gary is well known
for his stunning displays of begonias at such places as the National
Amateur Gardening Show that takes place at Shepton Mallet in September.
Always looking to experiment with less well know varieties, Gary is this
year trialling some Australian varieties that were obtained for him by
Dennis Need. These will not feature this year but some look quite
promising and others maybe not so good.
Gary uses impact plants such
as Flamboyant to give highlights on his exhibit. Also featured in these
pictures are various multi floras that are now in their infancy but
still looking very attractive. These may undoubtedly be on show later in
the year.
