We visited John in the last week of August, just prior to the National,
to cast an eye over what was likely to make its way to Birmingham in a
week’s time. John had already exhibited at Portchester, Bideford and
		Swansea.
John utilises premises in Chilcompton, Somerset, to grow on his
begonias and carries out his propagation from his home at Midsomer
		Norton, a stones throw away.
As you can see he grows a large number of plants and has in excess
of 150 varieties. Besides the tried and tested old favourites he also
grows a number of very and recent introductions. Also, he is trialling
some interested Australian varieties that have some potential.
All the shows are grateful for the support John gives and at the
National he was awarded The Blackmore & Langdon Trophy for the most
		points in the blooms section.
