		 For
the first time in many years I am back growing double tuberous begonias.
Dabbled a little last year but not as serious as this. I have followed Bob Bryce's method of growing to the letter. Next
year I will make some slight adjustment to the stopping dates only and
possibly use bigger pots. I have been growing Begonias now for nearly 30
years and never tried to grow serious cut blooms, I hang my head in
		shame!
This picture was taken the last time I showed doubles before starting
		with Species and Hybrids

Yorkshire/Humberside ShowJust an update regarding my cut bloom year. I had twelve blooms
ready this week which I thought would last for Ayr flower show. Looking
at the weather forecast I felt they would not. I made the decision to
cut take and entered them in the Yorkshire & Humberside area show.
I exhibited in six ,three and the one cut bloom. I am very pleased
to say I won the six board, 3rd in the three and second in the one cut
bloom. I also was awarded NBS Bronze Medal for best cut bloom in the
show. Thanks must go to Bob Bryce who helped me with advise on how
to stage my blooms. What a difference it can make just by moving one
bloom  to a different place on the board.

		1st August. |
