July
I've been quite busy with one thing or another. I have been at it
tiding up the big border around the lawn and it's taken me quite a
good lot of hours and some back ache, serves me right for not
keeping on top of it but I don't seem to have the time these days.
My begonias have not liked the hot weather we have been having and
it has been very hot. I've stopped them now after securing the bud
but now a week or two on it is looking like I am running late.
Another problem I might have is getting them to the show, they are
bigger than last years and I will have a job getting them in my car,
I cannot hire a van anymore, too old.
I will just have to wait and see, I'll be able to get some restricted
in the car so I will have an entry or two if they are on time.
I am
going to empty my big border of all the perennials later this year,
bring in some new stuff and split the plants I like that I already
have.
I have a garden visit early in August by the Chester Society and a
few locals so I have got to get my place looking up to scratch, more
work.
My chrysanthemums are looking fine, starting to take down the breaks
three on the decoratives and six/four on the Incurves and like my
begonias I've top dressed them. I've included a picture or two
of Begonias and a shot of the front of the bungalow.
That's all for now hope to see you at The National
all the best Ron
