My Way - by Derek L Telford |
.New
Season - February to Early May |
. |
 |
Over wintered non-tuberous leaf
cuttings (taken in October) under bench in polystyrene fish box and then
potted on the following spring.
The greenhouse has only been kept at 38º.F |
. |
 |
Late February
This is a cutting tuber which was
not harvested in a 4½" pot and it was immediately started up when the tops
fell off. |
. |
 |
Early April.
Started tubers potted up and transferred to one of my three allotment's
greenhouses. This is heated with a Propane heater and this part is
sectioned off. |
. |

|
My potting on compost is 50/50 Singleton's J.I No 2
and B&Q soilless compost. I utilise my
space to a MAXIMUM - hanging baskets too! |
 |
. |
 |
Centre greenhouse with
partition removed and plants potted into 3 litre pots. This is the
reason for shading, I do not want leaf scorch.
Plants in 6" pots in early May. |
 |
. |
 |
Plants in side extension fitted
with 6 hand operated home-made polycarbonate windows.
All benches in this greenhouse are fitted with slatted cedar benches. |
