May
May has come round quick & with the weather
being on the warm side everything is moving at some speed. My plants are
well ahead of where I would have liked them for the shows, the plants
are at least 3 weeks ahead. For the National I would have liked them in
their final pots mid-May but already most have already needed potting
into their final pots. I have been having a tweak with my compost from
1st pot to 2nd, I can say yes, I’m happy with what I’m seeing. I can
also see a difference in the plants they are looking particularly good
at this time. The seedlings have also been in their final pots for a
couple of weeks now, also looking good. Baskets have all been stopped &
side shoots are now developing & I will give them all another stop once
the side shoots start showing flower buds. The plants that were for
Dundee I managed to keep them down in pot size & will only let these
flower in 3 litre pots. These to are now starting to want potting up as
well, again earlier than I would have liked. The glasshouse is now
getting fuller & with plants being potted up they are requiring more
		room to flex their muscles.
We are due a cold snap & with no heating in the big
glasshouse will have fleece on standby.  To give myself some room many
will be selected to grow out in the garden flower beds once the danger
of frosts has passed, so being a little selective on what gets potted
		up.

		Keep safe till next time
