It took a long time to plan our first ever South Wales Area Show. We
hadn't realised how much time, planning and effort would be needed
to ensure our Area Show would eventually take place. Our ambitions
were fulfilled, when our Show was staged on August Bank Holiday,
2009, at Wyevale Garden Centre, Swansea.
The success of our Show, was beyond our highest expectations, as
the entries poured in from far and wide and all bench space was
completely covered with exhibits. The amount of entries ensured that
our Judges, Dave Staines, accompanied by Trainee Judge, Andrew
MacDougall took far longer to judge than was at first anticipated.
Two thousand members of the public visited the Show over two days.
They were all overwhelmed by the spectacle of quality exhibits which
were on display, including ten six boards of double tuberous
begonias, double tuberous pot plants, Rex, Cane, Multiflora pots and
hanging baskets, to name but a few cultivars, which enchanted the
			public at large.
The hard work and effort which went into making the South Wales
Area Show, such a successful event, was due to the determination of
all those involved and of course the determination of the exhibitors
to skillfully produce such quality exhibits, for the visitors to the
			Show to enjoy.
The full list of prize winners at the Show appears
			elsewhere.
